Big Foot hasn't had much luck against Evansville recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Chiefs will look to defend their home field against the Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Big Foot is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Friday. They blew past Belleville 12-2.
Kyleigh Nickels made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Nickels was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kate Hummel, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Sophia Kinane was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Big Foot always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2025.
Meanwhile, Evansville earned an 11-7 win over Janesville Parker on Wednesday.
Like Big Foot, Evansville also got a great game from a two-way player: Jessica Muench. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Muench was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Ava Olson was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Grace Nienhaus, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Big Foot was able to grind out a solid victory over Evansville in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, winning 4-0. Will the Chiefs repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
