La Center is a perfect 7-0 against Kalama since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Wildcats will be playing at home against the Chinooks at 4:30 p.m. Kalama took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on La Center, who comes in off a win.
On Friday, La Center was able to grind out a solid win over Stevenson, taking the game 7-3. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Billie Ross spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits. Those hits were her first of the season.
At the plate, Lauren Baker was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Kaleena Duggins was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
La Center was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Kalama entered their game against Seton Catholic on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Chinooks took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. The Chinooks' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Brookelyn Waddle made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Colbie Manninen, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Kalama's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for La Center, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. La Center hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. However, it's not like Kalama struggles in that department as they've averaged .351. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
La Center was able to grind out a solid victory over Kalama in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 14-11. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Chinooks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
