On Thursday, The Heritage Academy Heroes faced the Mission Heights Prep Phantoms in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Heritage Academy took their game at home with ease, bagging a 49-0 victory over Mission Heights Prep. The win was just business as usual for Heritage Academy, who after six games remain undefeated this season.
Leading Heritage Academy to victory were Kaden Bergman and Mattson Young. Bergman picked up 173 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Young threw for 327 yards and four touchdowns while completing 90% of his passes. Bergman's longest reception was for an incredible 95 yards.
Heritage Academy's victory was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-0. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.56 points. As for Mission Heights Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heritage Academy will face off against Canyon State Academy at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. As for Mission Heights Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against Maricopa Institute of Technology at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Maricopa Institute of Technology comes in on a streak of failing to score more than eight points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
