After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wasatch Academy, the Provo Bulldogs were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They walked away with a 56-46 victory over Timpanogos. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Provo also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2022.
Aaron Castagnetto was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with three steals. Soakai Aston was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six steals.
Despite the defeat, Timpanogos saw an underclassman step up: Jaxen Mccuistion scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Mccuistion is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Livingston, who scored five points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Provo's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Timpanogos, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Provo will take on Uintah at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Timpanogos on the road again on Friday and play against Mountain View at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. Mountain View is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 61.6 points per game.
