P.K. Yonge has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Bradford Tornadoes at TBD on Thursday. P.K. Yonge will be strutting in after a win while the Tornadoes will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Thursday, everything went P.K. Yonge's way against the Broncos as the Blue Wave made off with a 55-34 win.
P.K. Yonge found their leader in underclassman Decedric Sowell, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Chance Wims, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Bradford's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Creekside on the road and fell 67-33. Bradford was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-11.
P.K. Yonge's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-12. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points per game. As for Bradford, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.
P.K. Yonge was able to grind out a solid victory over the Tornadoes when the teams last played on Tuesday, winning 70-60. The rematch might be a little tougher for P.K. Yonge since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
