Basketball Recap: Park River/Fordville-Lankin Extends Winning Streak to Five

Park River/Fordville-Lankin came tearing into Friday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Drayton/Valley-Edinburg Titans by a score of 38-30. That's more bragging rights for the Aggies, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Despite the loss, Drayton/Valley-Edinburg still got an impressive performance from Brooke Gullickson, who posted ten points in addition to five boards and four steals. Another player making a difference was Aleah Pokrzywinski, who put up 11 points and five rebounds.

Park River/Fordville-Lankin's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Drayton/Valley-Edinburg, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-3.

Park River/Fordville-Lankin and Wahpeton will round out the year against one another at at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Wahpeton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Park River/Fordville-Lankin likes a good challenge. As for Drayton/Valley-Edinburg, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cavalier at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
