The Kettering Captains's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell to Lakeland 40-35. Kettering has struggled against Lakeland recently, as their matchup on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Kettering's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Diego Rocha, who scored six points. Rocha is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kevin Meredith, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Kettering's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Lakeland, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.
Kettering will be home for the holidays to greet Richmond at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lakeland, they will head out on the road to face off against Northville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
