The Antioch Sequoits had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They walked away with a 50-39 win over Lakes. That's two games straight that Antioch has won by exactly 11 points.
Antioch found their leader in underclassman Heidi Rathmann, who scored 26 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Rathmann has scored at least a third of Antioch's points. Another player making a difference was Addison Webb, who scored eight points.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Inclarity Turney, who scored 11 points along with four steals and three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Turney has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Twarling, who scored 16 points.
Antioch's victory bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Lakes, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Round Lake the next time they take the court. Antioch will head out to face Round Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Lakes will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
