After two games on the road, Denver South is heading back home. They will take on the Mullen Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Denver South only won by three when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 38-point they dealt the Thunderbirds on Saturday. Denver South blew past the Thunderbirds 67-29 on the road. That looming 67-29 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Denver South yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Denver South to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alex Trease, who scored 11 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Trease has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Brody Shepard, who scored ten points along with six assists and three steals.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Mullen beat the Warriors 71-65 on Friday.
Denver South has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Mullen, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.
Denver South beat the Mustangs 73-66 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Will Denver South repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
