Foundation Academy found their leader in sophomore Alex Nichols, who went 10 of 17 on his way to 29 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nichols has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Michels, who posted 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Central Florida Christian Academy entered their tilt with Bishop Moore on Monday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They walked away with a 57-48 win over the Hornets. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while the Hornets are ranked 473rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Foundation Academy better keep an eye on Julian DeClou. He was instrumental in Central Florida Christian Academy's win, going 9 for 12 on his way to 21 points in addition to six boards and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Storr, who had 11 points.
Foundation Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.7 points per game. As for Central Florida Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Foundation Academy and Central Florida Christian Academy are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Foundation Academy hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 64.3 points per game. However, it's not like Central Florida Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 59.9 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
