The Williams Vikings waltzed into their contest on Saturday with three straight wins but they left with four. They walked away with a 40-33 win over Ash Fork. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Williams also won the last time the pair played on January 12th.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Williams to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kai Mortensen, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Mortensen is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Braydyn Larimore, who scored 15 points along with four steals.
Despite the loss, Ash Fork saw an underclassman step up: Gracie Staples scored six points along with 18 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Ash Fork smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Williams only pulled down 12 offensive rebounds.
Williams has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. As for Ash Fork, they dropped their record down to 8-19 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
Williams does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Ash Fork also has no future games currently scheduled.
