Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Tatum

Tatum barely beat Arp the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tatum Eagles put the hurt on the Arp Tigers with a sharp 11-1 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Eagles have won five matches by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kody Hines and Cooper Whiteus did most of the damage at the plate: Hines scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Whiteus scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits Whiteus has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Adcock, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Tatum always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arp only posted an OBP of .200.

The win (which was Tatum's third in a row) raised their record to 9-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Arp, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-8-1.

Tatum will have a chance to go back-to-back against Arp: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
