The ALA - West Foothills Guardians will venture away from home to square off against the Winslow Bulldogs at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. ALA - West Foothills is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.4 runs per game this season.
ALA - West Foothills is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Gilbert Christian with a sharp 20-2 win on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Guardians.
Ava LaHair was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. LaHair was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Madelyn Caines was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing Six bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Olivia Gonzalez also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
ALA - West Foothills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .806. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, Winslow was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Page.
Angela Salazar made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, one triple, and two RBI. Emily Wilbanks was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Winslow's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for ALA - West Foothills, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
ALA - West Foothills' speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's contest. ALA - West Foothills has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 stolen bases per game.
