Softball Recap: Cibola Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

Cibola had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Youngker on Monday. The Raiders were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Roughriders. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Cibola let Stephanie Garcia and Stephanie Loera run wild. Garcia went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Loera went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Laci Gonzales was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run and one double.

Cibola hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 8-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Cibola has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-13 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Youngker, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-13 record.

As of now, neither Cibola nor the Roughriders have any future games scheduled.
