Megan Baker made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Jacie Caldwell was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Ruidoso's offense. They fell 4-0 to Robertson on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Cardinals: they've now lost eight in a row.
Jaya Trujillo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Alexx Chavez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Baylor Pritchett, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.
Ruidoso's defeat dropped their record down to 16-4. As for Mesilla Valley Christian School, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
