The Marmaton Valley Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. Their rough 61-39 loss to Pleasanton might stick with them for a while. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Marmaton Valley has suffered against Pleasanton since January 24, 2020.
It was another big night for Tony Gillespie, who scored 26 points along with seven assists and two steals for Pleasanton. That makes it three consecutive games in which Gillespie has scored at least a third of Pleasanton's points. Another player making a difference was Mario Davis, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Marmaton Valley has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Pleasanton, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marmaton Valley will square off against St. Paul on Friday. As for Pleasanton, they will head out on the road to take on Altoona-Midway at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Altoona-Midway will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
