The biggest upset of the week belonged to Vandalia, who defeated 254th ranked Vandalia, 46-12.
Kinney Myles of Carlinville ran for the longest rushing play in South Central this season against Roxana last week. Myles' team topped the Shells as he sprinted for 75 yards on the play and finished with 248 in all.
Staunton's dynamic duo of Jake Bruhn and Marcus Sitko proved to be unstoppable against Pana, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Bruhn threw for 90 yards and 3 touchdowns and Sitko had 67 yards receiving. Seth Stinnett helped Staunton's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 23 yards.
The Bulldogs' dynamic duo of Bruhn and Sitko proved tough for the Panthers to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Jake Palen was a key player and the best on defense this week as Roxana fell to Carlinville. The 6-foot-0 senior grabbed 2.0 sacks.
Myles was the most successful running back in the league this week. Teammate LaDarius Dunlap added to the ground attack by rushing for 111 yards.
Sitko was the best receiver in the league this week as Staunton topped Pana.
Myles was a beast in the backfield as Chad Easterday's team defeated Pat Keith's team.
Myles was a passing and rushing force as the Cavaliers beat the Shells.
Bruhn put up the best numbers through the air as Mike Parmentier's team bested Al Stupek's team.
Roxana's 6-foot-2 quarterback Nick Hand is the league leader in passing yards this season with 101. The leading receiver in the league this season is Sitko. The Staunton star has 2 catches for 67 yards.
The top two teams in South Central will face off this week when first place Staunton takes on second place Hillsboro.
Hillsboro was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to second in the league. The Hilltoppers beat Southwestern 33-19 earlier in the week.
