The 6-foot-7, 245-pound senior from Johnsburg (Ill.) told the Chicago Sun-Times he plans to enroll at Iowa after originally committing to Illinois.
Rated No. 1 at his position by CBS/MaxPreps recruiting expert Tom Lemming, Fiedorowicz said he wasn’t happy with how things were going at Illinois and changed his mind after attending Iowa’s home game with Minnesota on Saturday.
Further, he told the newspaper that Illinois doesn’t throw the ball enough to its tight ends, especially compared to Iowa.
Fiedorowicz, a versatile three-sport star, has 53 catches for 1,730 yards and 26 touchdowns over two seasons at Johnsburg and 44 TD catches in his career. He’s ranked the 13th best recruit in the nation overall by Lemming.
