The Platte Valley Broncos will challenge the Valley Vikings at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Platte Valley sitting on five straight victories and Valley on four.
On Friday, Platte Valley was able to grind out a solid win over Jefferson Academy, taking the game 9-5.

Hudson Flummerfelt was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Platte Valley let Mason Hunt and Jeremiah Molinar run wild. Hunt went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Molinar scored two runs while going 1-for-2. That triple was Hunt's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Silvas, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Platte Valley hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Valley earned a 5-1 victory over Wiggins on Friday.
Carson Adolf spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits.
At the plate, Andrew Renken was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Valley's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-4 when he doesn't).
Platte Valley pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Valley, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Platte Valley has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Platte Valley's way against Valley in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Platte Valley made off with a 15-7 win. Will the Broncos repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
