San Joaquin Athletic Association recap October 22, 2013
Bear Creek moved up to 683 from 715 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in San Joaquin Athletic Association. The Bruins were able to move up by beating Franklin 43-35.
Lincoln took down Chavez 59-12 last week, the largest margin of any game.
The Titans' dynamic duo of Randy Hoang and Jermaine Williams proved tough for the Trojans to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Hoang threw for 183 yards and Williams had 127 yards receiving. Darin Gentry helped Chavez's passing attack out by catching 8 balls for 51 yards.
Chris Mahar made the biggest impact on defense this week as Tracy bested Lodi. The 5-foot-10 senior nabbed 1 interception.
Chavez's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Titans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Julius Davila has thrown for 1,089 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Gentry has 44 catches for 724 yards.
At the moment, the Yellowjackets are in third, while the Flames are in second.
Lincoln led the league in scoring this week after putting up 59 points on Chavez.
