Peoria Notre Dame extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 11-13 in the process. They came up short against the Normal West Wildcats, falling 13-5. The Irish were not able to make up for their loss to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Lawson Alwan was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Peoria Notre Dame: the team is 7-3 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-10 otherwise. Kaiser King was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
As for Normal West, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season. Considering they have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
On Normal West's side, Ryder Coone was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Coone has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Cooper Temples was incredible, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Drew Hart, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Looking ahead, Peoria Notre Dame will square off against Lincoln at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Normal West, they will head out on the road to challenge Danville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
