Several Generals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Konner Early, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Scotty Napier, who scored four points along with two steals.
Lee's defeat was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Gate City, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.
Lee will be playing at home against the Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Union presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Generals in Virginia (the Bears are ranked 173rd, while the Generals are ranked 408th). Gate City will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on the Falcons at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
