Basketball Recap: Joel Fullwood Key Part of a Team Effort in Warriors Win

Hampton Christian Academy won the last time they faced Denbigh Baptist Christian and things went their way on Friday too. Everything went the Hampton Christian Academy Warriors' way against the Denbigh Baptist Christian Minutemen as the Hampton Christian Academy Warriors made off with a 61-39 victory. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hampton Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joel Fullwood, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten assists. Hampton Christian Academy is 3-1 when Fullwood posts eight or more assists, but 6-8 otherwise. Ethan West was another key player, putting up six points in addition to 14 rebounds and seven blocks.

Fullwood wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Hampton Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 26 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Loss or not, Denbigh Baptist Christian got some senior leadership from Joshua Kinney and William Showalter. Kinney posted 12 points, while Showalter scored 12 points.

The win got Hampton Christian Academy back to even at 9-9. As for Denbigh Baptist Christian, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 10-5 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hampton Christian Academy will host Gateway Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hampton Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.5 points per game this season. Denbigh Baptist Christian has already played their next contest (against Grove Christian School), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
