Summerfield hasn't had much luck against Captain Shreve recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Rebels will look to defend their home field against the Gators at 5:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Summerfield made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Bastrop, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Rebels put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 13-6 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Rebels, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Captain Shreve entered their tilt with Weston on Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with an 11-8 win over the Wolves.
Like Summerfield, Captain Shreve also got a great game from a two-way player: Ella Hendrick. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). Hendrick has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.
In other batting news, Meagan Hill was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Kaley Jenkins, who scored three runs and stole two bases.
Summerfield's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-7. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Captain Shreve, their victory bumped their record up to 19-13.
Summerfield might still be hurting after the 17-2 loss they got from Captain Shreve when the teams last played on Monday. Will the Rebels have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
