It may have taken  eight innings to finish the job, but Clearfield ultimately got the result they hoped for  on Wednesday. They won by a  run and slipped past the Woods Cross Wildcats  4-3. This was a revenge game for the Falcons: when they faced off against the Wildcats  last Monday, they had to take a  11-0  loss.
 Taven Swartz spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered  just two earned  (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  tossed less than seven  strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

 On the hitting side,  Colt Chambers was  incredible,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and one  stolen base. That's the most  RBI  he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of  Hudson Meyer, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-4.
Clearfield's record is now 4-8. As for Woods Cross, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record  this season.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clearfield will challenge Kearns at 3:30  p.m.  on Thursday. The Falcons are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on  an  eight-game losing streak. As for Woods Cross, they will square off against Roy at 3:00  p.m.  on Friday.
