The Aquinas Falcons will venture away from home to face off against the Dana Hills Dolphins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Aquinas is coming into the contest hot, having won their last nine games.
On Friday, Aquinas took their matchup with ease, bagging a 42-12 victory over Village Christian. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Falcons' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 76th, while the Crusaders are ranked 364th).

Aquinas' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Champ Brown, who rushed for 114 yards and two scores on only 12 carries. Tyson Gaines was in the mix as well, providing the Falcons with two TDs.
Aquinas' run defense was locked in: Village Christian could only muster 2.4 yards per carry. The team can thank Omar Montenegro for the heroic effort on defense: he. Aquinas didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 9.3.
Aquinas didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Gaines and Charlie Reyes.
Meanwhile, Dana Hills blew past Northwood, posting a 49-6 victory. The Dolphins pushed the score to 49-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Timberwolves cut but never quite recovered from.
Dana Hills' win came from a few key players Aquinas will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Carter Anderson, who threw for 197 yards and four touchdowns while completing 94.1% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (168.4). Another player making a difference was James Leicester, who picked up 117 receiving yards and three scores.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Dana Hills, adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Aiden Desormiers, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Dana Hills' defense and their four sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Chuck Eckl and Micah Langohr, who racked up all four sacks between them. Langohr has been hot, having posted at least one sack the last five times he's played.
Aquinas' record now sits at 9-1. As for Dana Hills, their record is now an identical 9-1.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Aquinas has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 150.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Dana Hills struggles in that department as they've been averaging 154.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
