When it comes to explaining why Moffat County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Hudson Jones. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Jones scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryant Carlson, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Brian Fontana was a one-man wrecking crew for Eagle Valley as he went 9 for 13 from beyond the arc en route to 41 points and 5 assists. Fontana continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Dylan Zoller was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with five rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Moffat County and nudges their season record down to 4-6. As for Eagle Valley, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-5.
Moffat County will look to defend their home court on Friday against Aspen at 7:00 p.m. Aspen is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Eagle Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Durango at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Durango is ranked 114th, while Eagle Valley is ranked 105th).
