Baseball Recap: Sharon Gets the Win

Sharon barely beat Grove City the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers' pitchers stepped up to hand the Eagles a 6-0 shutout on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won five matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Sharon's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Coen Fertig, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Will Beckert was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Sharon's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Grove City, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-7.

Coming up, Sharon will welcome Hickory at 4:00 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Grove City, they are taking a road trip to square off against Franklin at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
