It was a good run, but Pine Island unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They lost 80-59 to the Zumbrota-Mazeppa Cougars. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won 72-51.

Pine Island's loss dropped their record down to 16-11. As for Zumbrota-Mazeppa, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-10 record this season.

While Pine Island had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
