The St. John Woodchucks will be playing at home against the Dunseith Dragons at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. St. John has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
St. John pushed their score all the way to 71 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Cavalier 77-71. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Friday (70), St. John still had to take the loss.
St. John's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Cashmyn Belgarde, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, and Ezekiel Parisien who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Parisien has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Madden Parisien, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Dunseith's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their eighth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Four Winds/Minnewaukan, falling 80-41. Dunseith has struggled against Four Winds/Minnewaukan recently, as their matchup on Monday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
St. John has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Dunseith, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
St. John skirted past Dunseith 59-56 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Does St. John have another victory up their sleeve, or will Dunseith turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
