This season hasn't been kind to College Park Academy, who are still winless after their fourth match. They were dealt a 72-42 loss at the hands of Fairmont Heights on Thursday. College Park Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-16.
Fairmont Heights' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Amari Brice-Johnson, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Brice-Johnson has scored at least 25% of Fairmont Heights' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zion McQueen, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.
College Park Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Fairmont Heights, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. College Park Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Friendly at 12:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Fairmont Heights will be home for the holidays to greet Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
