Basketball Recap: Brayan Martinez Key Part of a Team Effort in Bobcats Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pflugerville Connally, Edinburg was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They strolled past the Aransas Pass Panthers with points to spare, taking the game 67-50. The Bobcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Edinburg's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brayan Martinez, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 16 points and five rebounds. What's more, Martinez also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Phoenix McBride, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.

Edinburg was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Edinburg is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. As for Aransas Pass, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-9.

Edinburg didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-51 loss against El Campo on the 28th. As for Aransas Pass, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 74-59 victory against Edna on the 28th.
