After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Helena, the Upper Lake Cougars were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 66-49 win over Fort Bragg. That 66-49 margin sets a new team best for Upper Lake this season.
When it comes to explaining why Fort Bragg lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cooper Killion. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points. The matchup was Killion's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brayton Shellman , who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Upper Lake pushed their record up to 5-9 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Fort Bragg, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.
Upper Lake will take on St. Bernard's at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fort Bragg, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against St. Helena at 5:30 p.m. St. Helena knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Fort Bragg likes a good challenge.
