After flying high against the Windsor Academy Knights on Monday, the Trinity Christian School of Griffin LIONS came back down to earth. Trinity Christian School of Griffin was the victim of a rough 52-31 defeat at the hands of Konos Academy on Tuesday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Trinity Christian School of Griffin in their matchups with Konos Academy: they've now lost five in a row.
Several LIONS players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aubrey Spitzer, who scored nine points. Spitzer scored a full 29% of Trinity Christian School of Griffin's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Leah McLaurin was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Trinity Christian School of Griffin's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Konos Academy, they pushed their record up to 6-4 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
Trinity Christian School of Griffin and Windsor Academy will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 21st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Windsor Academy is ranked 500th, while Trinity Christian School of Griffin is ranked 487th). Konos Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Central Christian at 6:30 p.m. on January 6, 2024. Hopefully Central Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 last Thursday.
