The James Island Trojans will be playing at home against the Hilton Head Island Seahawks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully James Island focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, James Island was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 47-43 to Bluffton. James Island has not had much luck with Bluffton recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
James Island's defeat came about despite a quality game from Andrea Duncan, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds and two steals. That was a full 51.2% of James Island's points, marking the tenth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Shante Deas, who scored four points along with ten rebounds.
Even though they lost, James Island smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bluffton only pulled down nine offensive rebounds.
Meanwhile, Hilton Head Island waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top against Colleton County by a score of 40-33.
James Island's loss dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Hilton Head Island, they pushed their record up to 10-15 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
James Island took their victory against Hilton Head Island in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 50-30. Does James Island have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hilton Head Island turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
