The Fayette Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. The game between Fayette and Fulton wasn't particularly close, with Fayette falling 77-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the defeat, Fayette had strong showings from Kaleb Friebe, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and six assists, and Payton Oeth, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Oeth posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Swanson, who scored eight points.
Fayette has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season. As for Fulton, their win bumped their record up to 4-14.
Fayette will be playing in front of their home fans against Salisbury at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Salisbury is coming into the game hot, having won their last ten games. As for Fulton, Fulton and South Callaway will face off at 7:15 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The timing is sure in South Callaway's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Fulton has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
