Boise and Capital are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2021, but likely not for long. The Brave will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. The last three games Boise has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Boise took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Centennial, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Brave's pitcher stepped up to hand the Patriots a 1-0 shutout on Friday.
Not much got past Brennan Davis, who gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks to keep Centennial off the board. Boise is 2-1 when Davis allows two or fewer hits, but 7-11 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Boise saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Newbery, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Newbery is becoming a predictor of the Brave's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 5-12 when he doesn't).
Meanwhile, Capital made easy work of Borah on Friday and carried off a 10-4 victory. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won six in a row.
Brady Ruzicka made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Ruzicka was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Hudson Hays was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Preston Christianson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Capital always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Boise's victory bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Capital, the win got them back to even at 10-10.
Boise got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in March against Capital by a conclusive 10-0 score. Do the Brave have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
