The Malcolm Clippers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell to Yutan 47-42. Malcolm was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chieftains apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Despite the loss, Malcolm saw an underclassman step up: Halle Dolliver dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 64.3% of Malcolm's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Zegar, who scored no points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Yutan got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Maura Tichota out in front who scored 15 points. Haley Kube was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Malcolm's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Yutan, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-2.
Malcolm will head out on the road to take on the Bluejays at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Yutan, they will be playing at home against the Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Neumann is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road.
