ED White hasn't had much luck against Middleburg recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Commanders will take on the Broncos at 6:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
ED White barely beat Raines the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Commanders were the clear victors by an 18-10 margin over the Vikings on Wednesday. While the Commanders didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-8), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Dylan De Leon made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. De Leon was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

In other batting news, ED White got a massive performance out of Kenai Wilkins, who went 3-for-6 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. The Commanders are undefeated when Wilkins posts two or more runs, but 1-2 otherwise. Tonio Mitchell also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
ED White kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Middleburg never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Duval Charter with a sharp 11-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Broncos.
Ethan Karaim was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.
In other batting news, Johnny DeAntonis was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cole Conte, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one double.
ED White's record now sits at 8-2. As for Middleburg, their record is now 8-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. ED White has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Middleburg struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
ED White suffered a grim 25-0 defeat to Middleburg in their previous matchup back in March of 2021. Can the Commanders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
