The Longview Lobos stacked an 18th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 87-42 victory over Texas. The victory was familiar territory for Longview who now have five in a row.
Longview's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Davis Justice, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Robert Blandburg, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.
Longview pushed their record up to 27-3 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.5 points per game. As for Texas, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-19.
Longview will head out on the road to take on Mt. Pleasant at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Averaging 70.6 points so far this season, Longview's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Mt. Pleasant better be ready for a challenge. As for Texas, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Hallsville at 7:30 p.m. Hallsville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Texas in Texas (Hallsville is ranked 243rd, while Texas is ranked 726th).
