Despite the loss, Sparta had strong showings from John Rice, who scored 19 points along with 4 steals, and Thomas Laufenberg, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds. The contest was Laufenberg's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Zach Treu, who scored 6 points.
Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Sparta, their loss dropped their record down to 2-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln will square off against Marshfield at 8:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Sparta, they will head out on the road to face off against Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
