The Eaton Reds will square off against The Classical Academy Titans at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Eaton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Basalt an 8-0 shutout. The victory was nothing new for the Reds as they're now sitting on eight straight.
The result came thanks to Gunnar Garrison's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up 18 Ks.
On the hitting side, Malaki Dalpra and Liam Whalen did most of the damage at the plate: Dalpra went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Whalen went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Greyson Clingan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, The Classical Academy's hitters rose to the challenge against a Miners pitching crew that boasted an average of only 3.8 runs allowed on Saturday. The Titans blew past Prospect Ridge Academy 11-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Titans.
Chase Rorabaugh tossed a big game, tossing 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Maddox Awtry was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two triples, two RBI, and one run. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. Zack Hale was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one double.

The Classical Academy's win bumped their record up to 19-6. As for Eaton, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 19-6.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Eaton has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.1 hits per game. However, it's not like The Classical Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Eaton was able to grind out a solid win over The Classical Academy in their previous matchup back in June of 2021, winning 4-1. Do the Reds have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
