Basketball Recap: Maeser Prep Academy's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

Maeser Prep Academy easily dispatched Freedom Prep Academy last Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Maeser Prep Academy Lions fell just short of the Panguitch Bobcats by a score of 43-40 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 69th, while the Bobcats are ranked 14th).

Panguitch was led to victory by Daxton Miller and Burkley Dalton. Miller went 5 of 11 on his way to 14 points along with six assists and three steals, while Dalton went 5 of 11 en route to 14 points. Miller is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played.

Maeser Prep Academy will try to stop Gunnison Valley's five-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Panguitch will square off against Tabiona and their three-game winning streak at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
