CONCORD, Calif. -
De La Salle (Concord, Calif.) snapped Amador Valley (Pleasanton, Calif.)'s 5-game winning streak, with a 49-0 victory on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Chris Williams touchdown pass to
Andrew Buckley in the first quarter, the Spartans led 28-0 at the half.
De La Salle expanded its lead to 49 points entering the fourth quarter. DLS scored three times in the third, including once on a Williams touchdown pass to Buckley.
With the win the Concord school extended its winning streak to 12 games. The Spartans defeated the Pirates 35-13 last week.
De La Salle's standout player in the win was
Tiapepe Vitale. The senior running back ran for two touchdowns and caught one touchdown. He has now scored 26 touchdowns on the season.
DLS came into the game allowing 12.1 points per game.
The Spartans also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 42-7.
The loss comes after Amador Valley defeated San Ramon Valley 28-25 last week.
