6A District 10 recap Nov. 7, 2012
Trey Congdon and Jordan Smith provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Lake Region. The connection was good for 99 yards, the longest such play in 6A District 10 this season.
Lake Gibson extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Thunder, 41-7. The victory was the 10th in a row for the team.
Lake Gibson's dynamic duo of Congdon and Smith proved tough for Lake Region to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Congdon threw for 217 yards and three touchdowns and Smith had 180 yards receiving. Eric Carter helped Lake Gibson's passing attack out by catching two balls for 21 yards.
Aj Gayle was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 23 carries, he ran for 111 yards as Sebring bested Steve Reynolds' team. Jacquae Peart also contributed to the rushing game with 26 yards on the ground.
Lake Gibson's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Braves feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Congdon has thrown for 1917 yards and 16 touchdowns this season, while Carter has 46 catches for 712 yards. Tyler Brown leads the league in rushing with 1173 yards.
