It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Chula Vista Spartans had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Westview and snuck past 11-8. Winning may never get old, but Chula Vista sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Chula Vista's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Izaac Baca, who threw for 195 yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Justin Yniesta, who picked up 98 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Chula Vista's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Westview, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
Chula Vista does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Westview also has no future games currently scheduled.
