The Overton Wolverines waltzed into their game Thursday with nine straight wins but they left with ten. They breezed by Power Center Academy on the road to the tune of 54-11. The result was nothing new for Overton, who have now won seven matches by 21 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Overton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kierra Baldwin, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Alexandria Clemmons was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
Overton's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Power Center Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Overton will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on White Station at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Power Center Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hamilton at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
