Basketball Recap: Fort Thomas Piles Up the Points Against San Manuel

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Fort Thomas's strategy against San Manuel on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Fort Thomas Apaches blew the San Manuel Miners out of the water with a 61-28 final score. The Apaches have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 18 matchups by 27 points or more this season.

Adaia Lorenzo continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 of 10 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points. Another player making a difference was Raeleigh Hawkins, who posted seven points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Fort Thomas smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 15 consecutive contests.

Fort Thomas is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 25-5 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.6 points. As for San Manuel, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.

Fort Thomas will square off against Valley Lutheran at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Natalia Hernandez and Lorenzo. San Manuel does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
