The Delta Eagles will face off against the Shelbyville Golden Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Delta will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Delta is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Muncie Central with a sharp 23-2 victory on Monday. Considering the Eagles have won four matches by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Sebastian Gillum looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Everrett Linn was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one double. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Gavin Case was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Delta was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .588. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Shelbyville earned a 5-2 win over Franklin Central on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Golden Bears.
Adair Zermeno looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Shelbyville's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is 2-1 (and 4-5 when he doesn't).
On the hitting side, Shelbyville's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Smith, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Smith has become a key player for the Golden Bears: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Another was Gavyn Fisher, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Delta pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Shelbyville, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Delta hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Shelbyville struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Delta couldn't quite get it done against Shelbyville when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 6-1. Will the Eagles have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
