The Pecos Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Fort Stockton Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Pecos and eight for Fort Stockton.
Pecos suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 80-24 loss at the hands of Seminole. While losing is never fun, Pecos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1534th, while Seminole is ranked 339th).
Meanwhile, Fort Stockton suffered a rough 74-48 defeat at the hands of Greenwood on Tuesday. Fort Stockton has struggled against Greenwood recently, as their game on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Pecos dropped their record down to 3-17 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road. As for Fort Stockton, their loss dropped their record down to 2-19.
Pecos was dealt a bruising 64-33 defeat at the hands of Fort Stockton when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Pecos avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
